Well done, Lara Pringle! Good news from Northchurch as Permission Refused for "Unsafe" Planning Application

May 25, 2018 2:07 PM

Cluttered Junction NorthchurchThe DBC Development Control Committee, which newly elected Lib Dem Councillor Lara Pringle addressed last night as Ward Councillor, unanimously voted to refuse planning permission for a development at Dudswell that involved a long, narrow access road onto an already complex and cluttered junction on the busy A4251.

The local community rallied splendidly and their representatives and Lara all spoke well and persuasively.

The refusal decision was contrary to the recommendations of DBC planning officers. Well done Lara for her effective community leadership and advocacy on behalf of the local residents.

The committee also commented critically on what they considered was the complacent attitude of Hertfordshire's Highways Planning Section towards potential highway hazards not only in Dudswell and Northchurch but within Dacorum as a whole.

I have no doubt that this happy outcome would not have arisen had not Lara previously argued successfully that this planning application should be decided by the Committee. Congratulation to Lara and the local people.
